USA Today (Newark, NJ): Brodeur once again wondering about Devils coach
Goaltender Martin Brodeur is spending another earlier-than-expected offseason wondering about the New Jersey Devils' next coach.
It's become almost an annual affair for the Devils, who have had coaching searches in 2006, '07 and '09.
President and general manager Lou Lamoriello is at it again with the shocking retirement of Jacques Lemaire in late April following the Devils third straight first-round playoff elimination.
Brodeur wouldn't mind seeing the coaching merri-go-round come to a stop this time around.
"Every year the past few seasons, we've been thinking about that same decision: Who is going to be the next guy?" Brodeur said Thursday while appearing as a spokesman at an event to promote energy efficient light bulbs.
With the summer ahead of him, Brodeur is working to help the environment by adding his voice to Project Porchlight, a program sponsored by the state Board of Public Utilities to hand out compact fluorescent light bulbs.
"Simple actions matter and just one little thing can make a big difference in the environment," Brodeur said.
Simply finding the right coach this time around, will make a difference for the Devils.
