Unity Northwest Hearald (Unity, SK): Project Porchlight campaign coming to Unity
The award-winning, energy-efficiency campaign, Project Porchlight, is working from the grass-roots in communities across Saskatchewan to spread the message that simple actions can make a big difference when it comes to conserving energy and helping the environment.
On Thursday, Nov. 27 beginning at 6 p. m., Project Porchlight along with 4H volunteers will be at the Unity Co-op to hand out 150 free fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs, providing energy saving information and recruiting volunteers to distribute bulbs and spread the message that simple actions matter.
CFL bulbs use 66 per cent less electricity than old fashioned incandescent bulbs. By installing them you'll be using energy wisely and saving money on your electricity bill.
