NJ.com (Westville, NJ): 'Green' events planned in Westville
Check out the “Green” events at Westville’s Independence Day Celebration June 26 on River Drive, Westville, 2 to 7 p.m., sponsored by Westville’s Environmental Commission.
Bring your green transportation — your bike — in for a free tune-up and basic maintenance check.
Let Cindy Pierson’s two Giant 100 lb. African Spur Thigh Tortoises wow both you and the kids. The Turtle Lady is also bringing assorted snappers, a diamondback terrapin and Ted, the Turkey Vulture.
Be one of the first 300 to check out the Lighting Fair and receive a free CFL light bulb from Project Porchlight. You will be greener when you return home and replace an incandescent with your new CFL.
TechniArt, a green lamp co., will sell inexpensive cool looking light fixtures and additional bulbs so you can green up your home.
Get “green rebate” information from Commission members who are now Partners in the New Jersey Clean Energy Program. Rebates range from $20 - $50 for Energy Star purchases and $50 when you recycle an older running refrigerator.
