Netcong Green (Netcong, NJ): Help Light Up Netcong…Become A Project Porchlight Volunteer
Project Porchlight, an award-winning energy-efficiency initiative brought to you by New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program™ and the Board of Public Utilities, is looking for volunteers to help us spread the message that simple actions can make a big difference when it comes to helping the environment in Netcong.
Since 2008, Project Porchlight New Jersey has distributed more than 1,000,000 million compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs to New Jersey residents, reached more than 300 New Jersey communities, registered and trained more than 2,600 volunteers, and created savings of 78 million for New Jersey residents on their electricity bill. As a result, New Jersey families and individuals are making smarter and better energy-efficient choices, realizing that their Simple Actions MatterTM in helping to protect the environment.
Join us July 14th at 7:30 pm for door-to-door CFL training. Training lasts about 20 minutes and prepares you to go door to door to spread the message to your neighbors that Simple Actions Matter. Each household can receive a 14 watt CFL bulb equivalent to a 60 watt incandescent bulb. A CFL bulb uses 75% less energy and lasts about 5-7 years with proper usage.
