Dryden has been bulbified!
Utterly and completely - from one side of town to the other. And it was no small feat, let me tell you. But one thing is for certain, Dryden is totally into energy conservation, and do they ever band together!
Dryden's Rotarians, along with some of the City's Facilities staff, family and friends, and local high school students met up with the Porchlight team at Hutchison's garage on Saturday morning. And wowza, was is it ever nippy that day! (We're pretty sure we saw snow flakes that morning and judging by the excitement around the ginormous tub of Tim Horton's coffee, everyone seemed grateful for hot coffee!)
Over 25 people came out to light up Dryden, and I can't even begin to tell you how efficient they were! Within a few hours there were volunteers picking up their second load of bulbs, offering to speak with residents in apartment buildings, and arranging for rural residents to receive bulbs, too. It was amazing!
We'll be in touch with more energy conservation messages for Dryden, but in the meantime -- thank you to Dan McArthur, Bruce Taylor, Arie Hoogenboom, and everyone else who helped us out on Saturday.
Next time we're in Dryden, we're bringing gloves for everyone!
P.S. If you live in Dryden and didn't get a bulb, please feel free to pick one up at City Hall, Home Hardware, Kuznik's or Timbermax!
