Project Porchlight zoomed into Englishtown, NJ on July 17 and 18 for the 16th annual Waterfest [1] Car Show and Motorsport Event. The second largest event of its kind in the world, Waterfest boasts a huge range of displays and activities for car-lovers, including show cars and drag races. Project Porchlight set up a table at Raceway Park [2] where the event was held, and set community members on the right course for protecting the environment. We distributed more than 330 free energy-saving compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs to the young crowd, many of whom had heard of us through our neighborhood bulb blitzes.
Attending Waterfest was part of Project Porchlight New Jersey’s campaign to distribute energy-efficient light bulbs to residents across the state. Project Porchlight is an initiative of One Change [3], and the campaign is made possible thanks to funding by the state Board of Public Utilities (BPU) [4] and New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program (NJCEP) [5].
