Porchlight Alberta team attended the Strathmore Energy Expo and Job Fair on Friday, September 28 and Saturday, September 29. Team members spoke to hundreds of residents of Strathmore, Alberta [1] about Project Porchlight, the benefits of switching to CFL bulbs, the environment, and energy conservation, and gave away more than 100 energy-efficient CFL bulbs, over the course of the two days. The people of Strathmore provided a warm welcome to Project Porchlight and expressed excitement about "lighting up their town." Strathmore Mayor, Keith Schneider, dropped by the Porchlight booth to show his support for the campaign and have a picture taken holding a CFL bulb with Porchlighter Emma McLaren. In addition to speaking to hundreds of people, the Porchlight Alberta Team also got the chance to watch a performance by Canadian Idol runner-up Jaydee Bixby. Our Alberta Porchlighters wasted no time in speaking to Bixby about the campaign and snapped a shot of him with a CFL bulb and a Project Porchlight box showing his support.
