Suzy, our director of Communications, Outreach and Recycle Box Responsibility sent around a reminder to office staff this week about what is recyclable here in Ottawa, and what isn't. (Did you know paper-ish coffee cups from Tim's, Starbucks, Second Cup and the like aren't recyclable? It was news to me. As a result, I've taken to carrying my re-useable mug when I have a *$ trip planned, and they give me 10 cents off for saving them the cup. Nice.)

The City of Ottawa publishes helpful lists of what belongs in your curbside black [1] and blue [2] boxes. More trivia: milk cartons... blue or black? Sadly-out-of-season strawberry containers... recyclable? Pizza boxes... still OK for the black box if they've soaked up some of that grease for you? Find out.
