300,000 Energy Efficient Bulbs to Light up Alberta as part of National Environmental Campaign

Edmonton: Media are invited to join Alberta Environment Minister Rob Renner and Edmonton Mayor Stephen Mandel as they announce the launch of Project Porchlight in Edmonton and Calgary.

Project Porchlight, a national energy-efficiency campaign run by the not-for-profit group One Change, officially launches in Edmonton on Thursday, October 16 and in Calgary on October 17. Project Porchlight will appeal to volunteers in Edmonton to deliver free compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs to residents across the city as part of a 300,000-bulb campaign in Calgary and Edmonton. The Edmonton and Calgary campaigns follow the successful Phase 1 of Project Porchlight Alberta that has already resulted in 500,000 CFL bulbs delivered by volunteers across rural Alberta. Project Porchlight also launches in Calgary this week.
