Turns out scoring goals isn’t the only way former NHL star Lanny McDonald knows how to assist. The hardcore player—who spent his professional career with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Colorado Rockies and Calgary Flames—stepped back on the ice to participate in an Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge [1] game at the September 9th EnCana [2] Skating Party, in support of our Fort Nelson campaign.

McDonald’s career highlights include leading the Flames to the Stanley Cup in 1989, and famously scoring an overtime goal—with both a fractured wrist and broken nose—for the Maple Leafs during the 1978 quarterfinals. Last week, the former pro star proved he still knows how to win the game. At the end of the day, McDonald headed home with a brand new light bulb to his name. Final score: CFL–1; incandescent–0.
