Our teams and 150 volunteers have been lighting up neighbourhoods across Ottawa. We're half way to our goal of delivering 200,000 energy efficient bulbs door-to-door!
We celebrated this milestone in front of the Giant Tiger [1] in the By-Ward Market on Saturday, October 28th from noon to 2 p.m. Prizes were given out, a lively band played some tunes, Hallowe'en treats were enjoyed by the kids (and more than a few adults), and the mobile porch made an appearance!
100,000 bulbs changed means:
- 12,000,000 lbs. of coal that won't be burned to produce power. Cleaner air!
- 50,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas that won't be created.
- $5 million of energy savings that can be used for other things.
