Laurie Sankey does good because she can
Posted by Amanda | June 5, 2008

Laurie Sankey isn't an avid environmentalist. And she isn't out to save the world. But she does like helping others.

"I think it's just who I am," says the Red Deer College Social Work student. "It's just my personality."

Laurie decided to help out this May by distributing CFLs for Project Porchlight. She and fellow social work student Amy Baird delivered 100 light bulbs throughout their Whitecourt neighbourhood.

"I got a lot of self-satisfaction out of it," says Laurie. "Just to know that I did something." In fact, she liked the experience so much that she and Amy are going back for more bulbs. It's just who they are.
