Friday night: So have you ever had a ticket with a seat no., and you're at a restaurant up the street from the concert venue, and the doors open at 7:30, but all at the table agree that we shouldn't rush - after all, our seats are good, why mix with the hoi polloi. And then you arrive, and of course you indulge in a preventive pee, because who wouldn't, and then you hear murblelings of "general admission general admission general admission" and the show starts in 5 minutes, and as you've been waiting in line to pee all the last-minutes have been streaming in and where do we end up but in the next-to-last row in the freakin Bronson Centre and let me tell you that place was not built with staggered seating-everyone gets a good view in mind...
On Saturday we celebrated the delivery of 100,000 CFL bulbs to homes across Ottawa. Lately we've been having some pretty sour weather: wet, chilly, and wet. And Saturday was no exception. It was utterly crappy. And we had an awesome time. The band (Rhythm Method) rocked out, everyone was in a good mood, over 300 passers-by received their bulbs with a smile, and the mascots embodied all that is good about furry creatures. (The Hydro people were talking about swiping Kevin from us, he was THAT good as the unnamed Hydro owl...) To everyone who braved the cold: THANKS - big blue is worth it!
