Notes for a Thursday evening.

These other Porchlight bloggers are running circles around me these days. Time for the web guy to chip in. I have a reputation to protect.

First, a warm welcome to those who have discovered Project Porchlight from way out there in the far reaches of the interweb. We've been on the front page of Hugg [1] and our renovated Boler trailer has been discussed in at least two [2] forums [3] over the past little while. Our friends Andrea [4] and Miss Vicky [5] have provided some link love on their weblogs - thank you both! Oh, and we were in the Ottawa Citizen last week sometime, too.

Prospective volunteers may be a little hesitant to jump in and get involved in Porchlight. If you fall into this somewhat uncertain category, we'd love to tell you a little bit more about what volunteering for us involves. Our volunteer information sessions [6] are just the thing! Please plan to attend a get-together and we'll tell you what the Porchlight volunteer experience is really like.

Over at the Environmental Defense website, Dr. Bill is answering questions about global warming [7]. Check his article out for a sensible discussion on choosing CFLs, proper disposal of our bulbs, and other conservation ideas.

Oh, and I must take a moment to offer a ringing endorsement of the new album, 'World Container', by Canadian rock and roll legends the Tragically Hip [8]. Of course, the Hip are a group of musicians that are both environmentally and socially aware, but let's forget about that for a second - the fact is, World Container rocks. It's in high rotation over here, and a must own for you.
