Project Porchlight is an energy efficiency campaign administered by One Change, a not-for-profit organization that advocates community engagement and environmental sustainability.
VOLUNTEER & DATA COORDINATOR
Reporting to the Saskatchewan Campaign Manager, the Volunteer & Data Coordinator is responsible for volunteer management, data collection and management and oversees inventory and the distribution of campaign materials. The Volunteer & Data Coordinator will be resourceful in acquiring volunteer participation in his/her community and will supervise volunteers and assist in the oversight of events. They will also help coordinate campaign logistics. Some evening and weekend work will be required.
Position Type: Contract (approximately 6 months with possibility of extension)
Responsibilities:
• Help deliver community education and engagement program
• Coordinate communication with volunteers
• Coordinate bulb pickups, training and volunteer activity
• Coordinate volunteers and supplies for community events
• Assist with the implementation of activities and publicity events
• Support volunteer recruitment, training, activities and recognition
• Recruit and coordinate volunteers by creating and maintaining relationships with community groups
• Provide weekly reports to the Campaign Manager on volunteer, delivery and inventory data
• Publishing campaign stories and photographs on Project Porchlight website
• Other responsibilities as required
Core Competencies/Qualifications:
• Experience in working with volunteers
• Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills
• High level of professionalism
• Capacity to work under pressure with excellent attention to detail
• Proficient with MS Office
• Experience with data entry and data management
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid and active Driver's License required
• Ability to both give and accept direction and input
• Ability to travel to different rendezvous points throughout Saskatchewan for training sessions and delivery events
• Ability to capture stories from everyday experiences with volunteers
• Must be able to work in a culturally competent manner
• Must be able to work in diplomatic and respectful way with broader community
• Demonstrated passion for environmental causes and conservation would be considered an asset
