Project Porchlight is a national social marketing campaign to encourage the adoption of environmentally friendly behaviours, administered by One Change, a not-for-profit organization based in Ottawa, Ontario. The goal of Project Porchlight is to bring together community groups, business, and government to deliver one free compact fluorescent light bulb to every household in Canada. The organization is seeking an experienced Campaign Manager with strong project and people management skills to manage the Alberta campaign.
The Campaign Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day business operations of the provincial campaign and to help fulfill the campaign’s goals, reporting to the regional Campaign Director. The Campaign Manager will recruit and manage short-term contract staff and volunteers, assist in the oversight of individual projects and events, and work with the regional Campaign Director and national head office staff to develop future projects. Some travel and work on evenings and weekends will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, Product and Service Delivery – Support the regional Campaign Director by identifying resource requirements, researching sources, establishing strategies to approach sources, administrating records and documentation. Liaise with others to ensure that funding and campaign requirements are met. Manage funding partner relationships. Seek out new and creative ways of generating revenue.
- Financial, Tax, Risk and Facilities Management – Manage bookkeepers/accountants and liaise with Finance team regarding budget and accounting. Prepare financial, annual and other reports for campaign director, national head office and Board of Directors. Develop, monitor and meet budgets and analyze variances with Campaign Director. Manage and provide advice on suppliers. Track and manage inventories.
- Human Resource Management - Supervise the human resources of the campaign, including performance management responsibilities. Assist in recruitment and selection by providing input into job descriptions, position requirements, advertisements, collection and review of applications, selection criteria and interviews. Maintain personnel files and compensation processes, and assist in the development of HR policies and procedures.
- Strategic Planning - Work with all stakeholders to develop strategic business plans for the organization and help the Campaign Director, Executive Director and Board to achieve these goals.
- Community and Public Relations – Ensure that the organization and campaign are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders. Solicit, secure, and coordinate media and other sponsors. Recruit and coordinate volunteers by creating and maintaining relationships with community groups. Assist with design and implementation of events.
Qualifications
- University degree in related field with solid experience in community development, campaign management and non-profit management
- Strong interest in environment causes and conservation projects
- Previous experience in community-based campaign management
- A detail-oriented self-starter, with proven administrative and organizational skills
- Bilingualism would be an asset
