In 1910, the community of Monte San Giacomo in southwestern Italy sent Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in Hoboken, New Jersey, a beautiful statue of Saint Ann, who is revered as the grandmother of Jesus Christ.
On July 21-26, Saint Ann’s celebrated the 100th anniversary of that gift with its annual Saint Ann’s Italian Festival, six days of great food, entertainment, games, and more

July 24 turned out to be one of the hottest days so far this summer in Little Silver, New Jersey, but the soaring temperatures did little to deter the dedicated volunteers who participated in Project Porchlight’s Little Silver Blitz.

The Independence Day Celebration held on June 26 in Westville, New Jersey, featured a number of “green” activities sponsored by Westville’s Environmental Commission. Attendees could bring green transportation—their bikes--for a free tune-up and basic maintenance check.

The annual Hopatcong Day in Hopatcong, New Jersey, is a true community festival. This year’s event, held on July 10, featured a tribute to Hopatcong’s soldiers and their families, a celebration parade, a soapbox derby, an antique car fair, a reptile fair, a baking contest, and much, much more.

Few things mark a perfect summer day as well as a cold, dripping ice cream cone. So Project Porchlight decided to beat the heat by making a pit stop at the 8th Annual New Jersey State Ice Cream Festival on July 17 in downtown Toms River, NJ.
