Winooski Farmer's Market: Residents Buy Local Greens and "Go Greener" with Energy Savings
Posted by Anonymous | July 31, 2008

If you pass by the Champlain Mill on a Thursday afternoon, you will see what's becoming a new hub of activity in town: the Winooski Farmer's Market! A variety of local foods and crafts are sold at the market, including salsa, fresh veggies, jewelry, baked goods and cutting boards made right there in town. Project Porchlight Vermont had the pleasure of attending this weekly gathering, to sign up volunteers, pass out free CFLs, and talk to folks about "going greener" with energy savings. Residents were delighted to receive a free bulb and to share their stories about the bulb's effectiveness. One resident said with a smile, "I'm still using the same CFL I installed more than five years ago. It's definitely saved me money on my electric bill, and I haven't had to replace the bulb!" People already using CFLs in their home were glad to learn some important facts on CFL recycling!

I am really glad when I hear

On November 21st, 2009 Tractor (not verified) says:

I am really glad when I hear that there still are some people who care about our nature and the fact that we consume so much electric energy at the cost of destroying our world piece by piece. I know it is not much but it counts a lot when even a few people decide to do something about this things. I really appreciate them and their work.
