Tonight's pizza box: blue, black, or garbage can?
Posted by Dan | September 30, 2007

Suzy, our director of Communications, Outreach and Recycle Box Responsibility sent around a reminder to office staff this week about what is recyclable here in Ottawa, and what isn't. (Did you know paper-ish coffee cups from Tim's, Starbucks, Second Cup and the like aren't recyclable? It was news to me. As a result, I've taken to carrying my re-useable mug when I have a *$ trip planned, and they give me 10 cents off for saving them the cup. Nice.)

The City of Ottawa publishes helpful lists of what belongs in your curbside black and blue boxes. More trivia: milk cartons... blue or black? Sadly-out-of-season strawberry containers... recyclable? Pizza boxes... still OK for the black box if they've soaked up some of that grease for you? Find out.
