We were up bright early at the Farmers Market in downtown Belleville, in the drizzle, ready to talk Porchlight.
The Market was the location for the starting point of the Lung Association's Amazing Pace scavenger hunt today (with 150 participants), so even though the weather was not super, there were lots of people milling around before they took off for their race. Once they were gone, more people arrived for the market (despite the weather!) and we signed up lots of volunteers and gave out lots of bulbs!
Mayor Neil Ellis arrived and we gathered a small crowd around our table for speeches.
Around noon we picked up more Tim's (very popular) and headed to Giant Tiger. Many people stopped by there who'd signed up at the market to volunteer and picked up their bulbs. We sent out 1500 bulbs for delivery today with nearly 50 volunteers. An awesome commitment from the people of Belleville!
