Have you heard about the Canadian Geographic Environmental Awards? Nominations for this green-inspired award have past, but there must be community-based awards and recognitions that take place all over this fine province of ours.
Exciting stuff considering all of the eager Porchlight volunteers who have the potential to become ambassadors for environmentally-friendly options not only in your community, but all over Canada, too.
Like say, oh, I don't know ... how about the Junior Sabres hockey team?!
With minimal cajoling from Fort Frances' energy-saving cheerleader, Lori Cain, the entire team was out introducing themselves to neighbours while they handed out free energy-saving bulbs. It was a super successful, community oriented green initiative and the Junior Sabres deserve a tremendous round of applause.
