Have you heard about the Canadian Geographic Environmental Awards? Nominations for this green-inspired award have past, but there must be community-based awards and recognitions that take place all over this fine province of ours.
Exciting stuff considering all of the eager Porchlight volunteers who have the potential to become ambassadors for environmentally-friendly options not only in your community, but all over Canada, too.
Take Beth Fairfield at Atikokan High School, for example. As soon as Beth found out about Porchlight's need for volunteers, she rounded up her OUTERS students at the school, and presto change-o, with a few weeks of planning and a dozen empty pizza boxes to show for it, Atikokan had been smothered in bulbs.
