Project Porchlight is coming to town!
Posted by T | October 28, 2007

Project Porchlight has free energy saving CFL light bulbs for your community. We are looking for community champions to help us light up your neighborhood and deliver these door to door. It takes about an hour to deliver a bag of bulbs and we're looking for volunteers to deliver on their street.

If you are interested in joining hundred of other Alberta volunteers, please use our volunteer signup form to be added to our contact list.

If you're holding a community event that we could participate in, please contact our Calgary office at 403.645.4558.

Great idea!

On December 11th, 2007 Dan says:

Thanks for the tip, Jamie - this is a great idea. We have approached a few university and college groups in the past, and have found the students and staff to be very accommodating.

Here's hoping we can do more on campus very soon!

University and College students can change the future

On December 4th, 2007 Jamie (not verified) says:

It might be a good idea for some volunteers to set up a table or two at their university. Lots of students are environmentally-aware, and would like to make changes to their lifestyles in order to benefit the environment. However, as we all know, many university students are struggling with funds for daily living, and don't really consider spending extra money to replace burnt-out lightbulbs. Maybe they just need a simple hand along the way to environmental sustainability. I think that there would be an overwhelmingly positive response with the post-secondary population. It's worth a try, isn't it?
