We’ve always said it merely takes a “twist” to make a difference. A twist of the wrist that is – replacing an old-fashioned incandescent bulb with a more energy efficient CFL or LED bulb. Our new Project Porchlight program in New Jersey involves a new “twist” of sorts …one that we are pretty excited about.

Project Porchlight is known for handing out millions of free CFL bulbs to people in communities across North America and for encouraging simple actions that matter.

One Change and our sponsors in New Jersey, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and its Clean Energy Program™, have a new simple action for New Jersey residents – the purchase of deeply discounted energy efficient lighting kits that SAVE money, CUT energy use, and directly HELP their neighborhoods by funding local, community projects.

It doesn’t get much better than that in our humble opinion. We are thrilled to be working again with community organizations who have volunteered with us for many years – but this time we can give something extra back to them – an opportunity to raise funds for their very worthwhile activities: from funding local river cleanup programs, to raising money for equipment for children’s recreational sports teams, to generating funding for free weatherization kits and installation.
