Delivered through a comprehensive social marketing campaign, Project Porchlight makes energy conservation accessible, relevant, and personal by giving regular people the power to take action in their own communities. There's lots of fantastic stuff going on in Kenora. No doubt about it. It's a busy community -- bustling you might say. When we arranged the bulbification of Kenora it seemed everyone had five or six things on the go. Which is arguably true in most of the places we visited, but especially true for Kenora.
Most of us have seen seasonal LED strings in the past couple of years, either on store shelves or hanging from neighbour's houses and trees. They're the brighter, better holiday lights that not only look more colorful and vivid, but also use about 95% less electricity than your old incandescent-style light strings.

We've got a dedicated Porchlight Team heading to your neck of the woods this weekend, and as part of the festivities, we'll be setting up a booth at the Christmas Craft Show, hosted by the Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
Last weekend, Project Porchlight made our first appearance in Kenora. With the help of some superstar volunteers, we distributed 1,000 light bulbs to city employees, local businesses and private homes.
One Change is undertaking a special energy-saving initiative this holiday season, with a Seasonal Light Exchange to take place at retail stores across Ontario. We need volunteers in the locations listed below to make it happen!

Consider this a heads up that we're heading to your community soon, and boy-oh-boy are we ever looking forward to it.
To get the ball rolling, Heather Kasprick who works down at City Hall will be recruiting volunteers and handing out bulbs to residents who may want to drop in to get involved. Visit Heather this Friday, November 2.
