Phase III of Project Porchlight New Jersey’s campaign to educate state residents about making smarter energy-efficient choices has drawn to a close. So this is an excellent time to raise an important question: What kind of impact did this campaign really have?

Project Porchlight’s Shrewsbury Blitz on September 18 was a terrific success. A diverse group of more than 30 volunteers gathered at the Shrewsbury Historical Society in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, for an informative training session.

Project Porchlight New Jersey is a grassroots campaign, and our success is defined by volunteer support. Our volunteers harness the power of person-to person communication, reaching out to influence people in their communities to take part in energy conservation.

The Matawan Blitz that was held on September 11 in Matawan, New Jersey, was simply terrific. Members of the Circle K International Club from nearby Brookdale Community College joined Matawan resident volunteers to educate folks about the energy savings offered by compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs as well as the energy efficiency programs that are available through New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program (NJCEP)

This year’s event, the 22nd annual FestiFall, took place on September 26 and featured hundreds of vendors offering food, crafts, and retail items.
