Encouraging words from Dave in South Burlington, who received one of our bulbs during our recent campaign in Vermont:
"I want to express my appreciation not only for all the leg work that you guys have done, but for also giving out an excellent first time bulb for those who may have never used - or even thought of using - CFLs. Often the first experience guides the next purchase. Thanks again."

Hello Porchlight Vermont Volunteers! We cannot thank you enough for your hard work and dedication to the Project Porchlight Campaign this summer-you made it happen! Thank you for spreading the message that "simple actions matter" throughout your neighborhoods, one door at a time, and for helping others to save energy and to believe that they too can take action against global warming.

Project Porchlight Vermont rocked through the night with Burlington City Arts this past Thursday for the final show in a series of free concerts in Battery Park. For the past 25 years, BCA has ignited a creative and passionate relationship between the arts and community in Burlington, and this year we were glad to be a part of the action!

"Candy here! Get your candy here! Don't forget to get your CFL! Start saving energy now!" shouted a Lake Monsters staffer who so kindly took up the OneChange message while passing out candy to the crowd at Sunday's ballgame. On June 27, Project Porchlight Vermont cheered on Burlington's own professional baseball team as they passed out more than 800 CFLs to local fans.

If you pass by the Champlain Mill on a Thursday afternoon, you will see what's becoming a new hub of activity in town: the Winooski Farmer's Market! A variety of local foods and crafts are sold at the market, including salsa, fresh veggies, jewelry, baked goods and cutting boards made right there in town.

This past Saturday, July 26, the Porchlight Vermont team hit the streets of Burlington's Old Northend to participate in The Ramble. This annual event in Burlington has evolved over the past five years from a simple art show to a 'free-for-all' celebration of creativity and community.

Last Sunday June 15th, Porchlight Vermont's own Lauren Weiss was interviewed on Radio Africa, a weekly radio show heard on Burlington's WWPV 88.7 FM. Lauren spoke with host Thato Ratsebe about the Porchlight campaign, the virtues of the CFL bulb, and how everyone can play a part in energy conservation.

"My office is stacked to the ceiling with light bulbs," says Dawn Densmore, Director of Outreach and Public Relations for the University of Vermont, College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences.

Hey There Vermonters,

Earlier this week, Project Porchlight was featured in an article in the Burlington Free Press. The article relates to our campaign and to our Volunteer Rally held on June 21 in City Hall Park and features Chris Burns of Burlington Electric Department, as well as Heidi Conant, Project Porchlight's Vermont Campaign Coordinator:
