Janaki reports from Hinton:
So the day started early, t'was around 1:00am when I finally got into Edmonton after a rescheduled, and then delayed flight from Ottawa was re-routed due to a snow storm in Toronto. Brian, you so called it.
Got into Hinton in time for the scheduled JFW delivery in the afternoon, hosted by Devlin and Julie Griffiths at their home. I admittedly felt a little awkward about being in a volunteer's family room, packing bags while the family dog scurried about, but Trevor and I were really welcomed by the group. 6 families showed, we packed bags, went through the training and got out to deliver.
Long story short, the group got about 600 bulbs out today...this is really impressive considering that the kids participating were all about 7 years old. They walked away feeling like they had encouraged their neighbors to make some positive changes to benefit the environment, and they did it with their families, which is great.
