It's never too early to start making a change.
On May 12th, representatives from Project Porchlight and EnCana visited the Susa Creek School in northwestern Alberta to talk about energy efficiency, the environment, and what EnCana and Project Porchlight are doing to help. The kids were spellbound during the presentation and were eager to learn what they could do to reduce the amount of electricity used in their community.
After letting the students test their hands at the CFL crank, we challenged them to enter the Project Porchlight art contest. Many of the kids took part, submitting pictures or stories that explain how they plan to reduce their energy consumption.
We are proud to announce the contest winner: Grade 5 student Cheryl McDonald! Way to go Cheryl, and thanks for lighting up your community!
