The 28th annual Quick Chek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning on July 23-25 in Readington, New Jersey, featured huge balloons—ginormous balloons!--in a variety of shapes, including a scarecrow, a barn, and a haunted house. More than 110,000 people attended this year’s event at Readington’s Solberg Airport

Anne Purcaro (pictured here, right) first learned about Project Porchlight’s campaign to distribute millions of energy-efficient bulbs across New Jersey back in May, when a complimentary compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulb was left on the doorknob of her home in Parsippany, New Jersey.

In 1910, the community of Monte San Giacomo in southwestern Italy sent Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in Hoboken, New Jersey, a beautiful statue of Saint Ann, who is revered as the grandmother of Jesus Christ.

July 24 turned out to be one of the hottest days so far this summer in Little Silver, New Jersey, but the soaring temperatures did little to deter the dedicated volunteers who participated in Project Porchlight’s Little Silver Blitz.
Despite the heat, approximately 25 volunteers worked their way through the borough
